How to setup Email to Eagle Sync
What does the integration do?
Any emails you receive from contacts in your Eagle database will be brought in and added to the contact record in Eagle.
Eagle can integrate to your IMAP mailbox, Google mail account, or Office365 email account.
What is an IMAP mailbox?
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a standard email protocol that stores email messages on a mail server rather than on the hard drive of your computer.
How to set it up
To sync the emails you send from your own email account with the contacts in your Eagle Agent account:
- Open the My Profile
- Turn on Sync With My IMAP Mailbox (Beta)
- Click Link My Mailbox
When you have Sync With My IMAP Mailbox on and clicked Link your mailbox, you will be taken to the below screen, you will need to enter all details.
Click next step, you will be required to enter your email account password.
If the password or any other details are incorrect you will see the below screen, confirm the details and update if need be.
When all details have been entered correctly, you will automatically return to the profile page. The Sync With My IMAP Mailbox will be turned off, you will need to turn it on. The email address you have linked will be displayed:
Initial sync and delay
Eagle will perform an initial sync with your email box. Depending on the size of your mail box, this can take a few minutes to a couple of days. During this setup time, the email sync will not be working, so please allow some time after you complete the setup process for the email sync to work.
After this initial sync, emails you receive will come into Eagle within about half an hour of receiving them.
We use a third party service called Context IO to synchronise your emails with Eagle. Context.io anonymises your data and uses it for email analysis.
